You’ll Want These Products On Your Walmart Baby Registry In 2021
Expecting parents should make sure to include these must-have items on their Walmart baby registry.
Starting a baby registry can be an incredibly exciting time for expectant parents. Aside from seeing your baby moving around on the ultrasound screen for the first time, it’s one of those first brushes with reality. Like, “Whoa, this is really happening! Let’s go crazy with all of this adorable baby stuff!”
Once you actually start looking around, though, it hits you: Holy crap. Because honestly, there are so many decisions to be made. What’s the color scheme of the nursery? Should we get a car seat and a separate stroller, or a travel system? How much newborn clothing is too much? Cloth diapers or disposable? Is it too soon to think about buying a baby gate? Do we even need all of this stuff?! Trust me, this is completely normal. You haven’t exactly done this before, after all. So how can you expect to know the difference between must-have baby registry items and nice-to-have ones?
Although choosing a retailer with which to begin your baby registry isn’t something to be taken lightly, the decision for my husband and me was a no-brainer when I was pregnant with our first child: We registered at Walmart. For us, it was the perfect option because older relatives (who might not be as comfortable with technology) could easily pop into their local Walmart location to shop in-person, and more internet-savvy baby shower guests could conveniently purchase a gift online.
These days, expectant parents receive a Walmart baby registry welcome box after they set up their Walmart baby registry, and there’s a price match guarantee. The ease of using the Walmart app is another perk to starting a baby registry at Walmart — because you can actually create and add items to your registry directly from your phone. Granted, there’s no completion discount like some other retailers offer. So you’ll have to weigh your options and decide if this is important to you or not.
Based on my personal experience with having a Walmart baby registry, reviews from other parents and my practical experience with having had three babies of my own so far (and another one on the way!) I've compiled a must-have list for you to consider. So let’s take a look at products you’ll definitely want to have on your own Walmart baby registry. (Go ahead and bookmark this page for future reference. Trust me, you’ll need it.)
1. Delta Children Classic Sweet Beginnings Bassinet
When you first bring home your newborn, having a bassinet right there in your bedroom is incredibly convenient — considering you’ll be up every few hours or so for diaper changes and feedings. But because your little one will probably only use his bassinet for a couple of months, it can seem silly to spend a ton of money on one. This $42.99 Delta Children Classic Sweet Beginnings Bassinet gets the job done without breaking the bank. It’s designed for infants up to 15 pounds, features an adjustable/removable canopy, a two-section storage basket and comes with its own mattress and one fitted sheet.
One satisfied Walmart customer wrote, "I purchased this bassinet not knowing what to expect because it was inexpensive, let just say I got more than what I paid for. The bassinet was easy to assemble, its sturdy and looks great. I would highly recommend this bassinet!" With a 4.5 star rating and over 600 reviews, it's clear that many customers agree with this positive review.

2. Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor
Once your baby transitions to a crib in her own room — and when she's napping in your room, but you're elsewhere in the house — you’ll want to have some sort of monitor to keep tabs on her. Although audio-only monitors work fine, it seems more and more parents prefer a video monitor for their little one. If you consider that you’ll be using your monitor daily for several years, then you’ll want to choose something that will last. At $155.99, the Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor has a decent-sized price tag. This monitor actually boasts three different lens types, depending on your needs: Normal, wide angle (which is sold separately) and zoom (which is included.) Video feed of your baby is streamed to a 3.5-inch LCD color display that includes remote tilt/pan and digital zoom. The display has a 10-hour battery life on power-saving mode and a six-hour battery life with the screen on. This YouTube tutorial/review of the Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Baby Monitor will answer all el questions.
One Walmart reviewer gave this video baby monitor a five-star rating, writing, “I did so much research on baby monitors, it took weeks to make a decision. I wanted one that was a closed circuit, not wifi, had good night vision, and you could tilt/move the camera from the parent unit remotely. This does it all! And it does it well. Set up is easy, the camera is already paired to the monitor. Picture quality is great, battery life is normal. I wish it did come with two cameras but another camera is $90 on Amazon.. not too bad. Some of the other brands I couldn't even find a second camera anywhere online even though they said they support multiple cameras. It's pricey but it's been great so far!” This product has a 4.6 star rating with over 200 reviews, so it definitely looks like it's a great monitor option.

3. Pampers Swaddlers Diapers
Pampers Swaddlers are so soft and effective, that I really wouldn’t recommend anything else for newborns. With each of my babies so far, I’ve also appreciated the wetness indicator line, which changes color if your baby’s diaper needs changing. (It can be hard to tell when they’re that little — and especially if you’re a newbie!) Bonus: Pampers Swaddlers have an umbilical cord notch, making it so these diapers won’t rub on/irritate your baby’s umbilical cord stump before it heals and falls off on its own. So be sure to include several boxes of varying sizes on your Walmart registry because you’re going to be going through a lot of these in just the first few months alone.

4. Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes
Guys, I have no idea how many packages of wipes I’ve gone through during my years of parenting so far. (And honestly, I don't want to know.) But trust me: You can never have too many baby wipes on hand. Personally, I would recommend Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipes because your baby’s delicate tush will appreciate the pH balancing formula that is free of alcohol, parabens, phenoxyethanol, and dyes. These wipes are dermatologist-test and hypoallergenic, too — so you can rest assured they won’t irritate your baby’s bottom. Or fingers or face. Because let’s face it; once your little one starts on solid foods, wipes can be used for so much more than diaper changes.

5. Gerber Newborn Baby Prefold Birdseye 3-Ply Cloth Reusable Diapers
Yes, I realize these are technically cloth diapers. But hear me out: Since they’re so thick and absorbent, they’re also fantastic to use as burp cloths. During those first few months with your baby, he’s still trying to get the hang of this whole digestion business which means spit-up is pretty much a guarantee. So you’ll want to have plenty of burp cloths to switch out throughout the week (and backups for when others being washed). At $13.99, this 10-pack of Gerber Newborn Baby Prefold Birdseye 3-Ply Reusable Diapers is the perfect start to your burp cloth stash.

6. Graco Solano 4 in 1 Convertible Crib with Drawer
This Graco Solano 4 in 1 Convertible Crib with Drawer is a best-seller at Walmart — and at under $200 it's no wonder why. This Walmart exclusive comes in four different colors and converts into a toddler bed (with no guard rail,) a daybed, and eventually full-size bed (but bed rails are not included.) You can adjust the mattress height as your little one learns to sit and then pull herself up to a standing position. Another convenient feature? The large drawer is perfect for storing mattress pads and sheets, or blankets, diapers and more.
One parent gave this particular design a five-star rating, writing, “This crib is great! The drawer isn't huge but it's big enough to fit extra sheets, pillow cases, and baby blankets. There is one wider bar on the back that perfectly covers an outlet. We have a protective box over it but the wider bar provides more cover so our daughter isn't tempted to play with the outlet lockbox at nap/bedtime. The fact that it's convertible and we won't have to continue purchasing bed frames is awesome."

7. Angel Line Windsor Glider and Ottoman
Aside from having a safe place for your baby to sleep, another nursery must-have — from my experience — is a glider. Being able to sit down in a comfy chair for middle-of-the-night feedings after a quick diaper change is amazing. And your baby will surely drift off into dreamland once his belly is full and he’s snuggled close and rocking. This Angel Line Windsor Glider and Ottoman is $129.99, and expecting parents can choose from eight different fabric patterns. You’ll appreciate the padded arms to help you more comfortably hold your baby. Not to mention, the storage pockets come in handy for extra burp cloths, pacifiers and more.
One happy Walmart customer wrote, “This chair is a perfect addition to the nursery. It's really comfortable and the glide is nice and silent and smooth. It also has the perfect amount of decline that if you're huge, pregnant like me (I have a few weeks left) and need to relieve some stress that baby is putting on the ribs. And it's very pleasing cosmetically to look at. I also got the blue and white one for our downstairs but I don't want to write a whole separate review for it. I'm just as happy with it too. I like the tons of different choices you had for matching the current furniture you already have to the new rocking chairs. There's something that'll work for any situation I'm thinking."

8. Bright Starts Zig Zag Safari Activity Gym
Activity gyms are fantastic tools for stimulating your baby’s senses. And the Bright Starts Zig Zag Safari Activity Gym is full of colors and patterns she will love. Simply lie her on the soft, padded mat and watch her try to grasp and bat the toys — which include a ring rattle, leaf-shaped toy, zebra link, and mirror. Flip her over, and this activity gym is ideal for tummy time, too. At $24.99, this activity gym will provide countless hours of playtime for your little one — without costing an arm and a leg in the process. One Walmart reviewer wrote, “My baby loves this! The contrast colors get her attention and the few toys that it comes with are fun. Worth the money."

9. Wonder Nation Baby Boy Pajamas Zip Up Sleep 'N Play Sleepers, 2-Pack
For those who haven’t shopped in the infant/toddler clothing section much, Wonder Nation is a brand unique to Walmart. And this adorable line of clothing also happens to be incredibly affordable. (Score!) Take this $9.94 Wonder Nation Baby Boy Pajamas Zip Up Sleep 'N Play Sleepers, 2-Pack for example. The sweet forest and bear zip-up footed pajamas are simply adorable. (And this set gets bonus points from me for the zippers; because middle-of-the-night diaper changes with snaps/buttons are infinitely frustrating.) So choose a few sets of your favorite designs and be sure to add them to your Walmart baby registry. Because between spitting-up and the occasional diaper blowout, you’ll likely be going through several pairs of these a night.

10. Graco Pack 'n Play On the Go Playard with Bassinet
The Graco Pack ‘n Play On the Go Playard with Bassinet is yet another Walmart baby registry must-have. It features a removable, full-size bassinet that serves as a perfect napping spot for your newborn during those early weeks. This playpen is perfect for allowing your baby to safely sleep/chill out in the company of overly excited toddler siblings and/or pets. It’s also ideal for vacation because as with any Pack ‘n Play, the playard easy folds up for travel or storage. A removable toy bar is also included. Although the price varies slightly depending on the design you choose, the pictured option, “Stratus,” is $74.88.
Here’s what one satisfied parent loves about this product: “I love this item! I purchase this for our 5th child, having used only Graco products on the first 4 as well. It was a cute but cheap collection. The playpen is awesome, it doesn't have the diaper changing area (which I hardly ever used on any of the other children) and it's super cute and easy to put together. GREAT PRODUCT! I def. recommend.”

11. Baby Boom Cross Hatch Backpack Diaper Bag
It took having a baby and a toddler at the same time for me to figure it out, but diaper bag backpacks are the only diaper bags worth getting. Trust me. Messenger bag styles are such a hassle to lug around, along with everything else you probably have with you. (You know, a purse, your baby in an infant car seat, etc.) For $38, this Baby Boom Cross Hatch Backpack Diaper Bag allows you to comfortably carry all of your on-the-go baby essentials while keeping both hands/arms free. With so many different pockets and compartments, there's a place for everything — diapers, wipes, bottles, extra clothes, and heck, every your laptop if you need to. With a 4.5 star rating and over 100 reviews, this is probably your best bet for a flexible diaper bag that can grow with your baby.

12. Urbini Omni Plus 3 in 1 Travel System
For $199, the Urbini Omni Plus 3 in 1 Travel System has the look and feel of much more expensive brands, just you know, without the added expense. The stroller itself is designed for children up to 50 pounds, has a three-position adjustable foam handle, a two-position sun canopy with a peek-a-boo window, a multi-position tilt reclining seat, a spacious storage basket, a parent cup holder and more. (It also converts to a carriage mode.) For a young infant, the car seat simply clicks into place on the stroller frame and viola! You're good to go. Even when your baby grows out of the infant car seat, you can still use the stroller itself for years to come. Check out this helpful assembly tutorial and review on YouTube to see all of the possible configurations.
A highly-satisfied Walmart customer wrote, "Love this combo so much! Super easy to convert! Love that it can be used for the car seat, as a carriage, and as a toddler seat. Very easy to put together. Highly recommend for the on the go mom!"

13. Infantino Flip Advanced 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier
The Infantino Flip Advanced 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier is designed for children weighing between 8 and 32 pounds. As the name suggests, this carrier offers four different ways for caregivers to carry little ones. Its ergonomic, facing-in seat offers optimal baby hip positioning. And its supportive waist belt and adjustable padded straps makes long-wear comfortable for mom and/or dad, too. Did I mention this carrier is machine washable, too? Yep. And trust me, it'll get plenty of washing if you wind up being an avid baby-wearer.
One rave-review from a Walmart customer reads, "I received this carrier and ergo (one of those super expensive ones) for my baby shower. after trying both of them out, this one wins hands down. First baby looks and seems more comfortable. It's not nearly as thick and bulky so has been perfect for warmer weather. I did not have a small baby and this disperses the weight so I don't get tired or sore during the longer walks! I absolutely recommend this!!"
