11 Buy Buy Baby Registry Must-Haves For 2019

Parents should be sure to include these-have baby products in their Buy Buy Baby registries.

Before expecting couples can even get started adding items to their baby registries, they must first figure out where they’re going to register. This alone can be a huge decision to make. One of the most popular places parents-to-be opt begin a baby registry — in addition to places like Target, Walmart, and Amazon — is Buy Buy Baby. Which makes complete sense, considering the company specializes in all things baby-related. From nursery furniture, to baby gear, baby clothes, feeding tools, toys, books, safety products, and more, this place has literally everything under the sun you would need for your little one. So you can be sure all of the must-have baby registry items can be found at Buy Buy Baby, too.

As with most registries out there today, starting a baby registry at Buy Buy Baby comes with certain perks. (Because how else would companies lure in expecting parents?) For starters, once you register, Buy Buy Baby gives you a goody bag filled with samples and coupons — which you can then pick up in-store. Something else that will definitely come in handy is the company’s price matching policy. All you have to do is show a competitor’s price for an identical item and Buy Buy Baby will match it. Easy as pie. Other perks include free shipping for your baby’s first year once $1,500 worth of items have been purchased from your registry before your due date rolls around. Furthermore, a completion discount — in the form of 10-percent off everything you happen to have left on your registry —  is sent to you a few weeks prior to your due date.

If you’ve taken all of these factors into consideration and have decided that Buy Buy Baby is the perfect place to start your baby registry, then half the battle is already over. The other half consists of figuring out what you’ll actually need for your baby. And if you’re a first-time parent, that can be difficult to determine. (You’ve never done this before, after all.) The good news is, this mama already has three kids under her belt — with another one on the way in just a few weeks. Based on a combination of my experience, Buy Buy Baby’s “registry fave” classification, and reviews from other parents, I’ve compiled a list of must-have items for your Buy Buy Baby registry. So be sure to bookmark this page for future reference as you think about tackling your own registry. You’ve got this, parents-to-be!

1. SwaddleMe 5-Pack Original Swaddles

This SwaddleMe 5-Pack Original Swaddles is listed as a “registry fave” at Buy Buy Baby — and for good reason. I mean, think about it. Prior to birth, a baby is all curled up inside the womb, warm and snug. So after delivery, the feeling of being swaddled helps mimic this environment, allowing your baby to feel safe and secure while lying in his/her bassinet. Not to mention, it can help prevent the startle reflex — which has a way of waking both your baby and you. At $49.99, this five-pack of swaddlers will surely get you through the newborn stage.

2. HALO Bassinest Premiere Series Swivel Sleeper

Ask around, and seasoned parents will likely tell you that the Halo Bassinest Swivel Sleeper is where it’s at. It’s the perfect way to have your baby sleeping right next to you — while also making sure she has her own, safe sleeping area. Because the sidewall lowers, it makes it easy to calm and care for your little one in the middle of the night. Other features include: A nightlight, three lullabies, three soothing sounds, a nursing timer, two vibration levels, a back to bed reminder and two storage pockets. At $249.99, the Halo Bassinest Swivel Sleeper is absolutely a baby registry splurge.

However, one rave reviewer would probably say it’s worth it. They wrote, “Of all the baby stuff I had to get, this bassinet was the best purchase! It's safe and wonderful to use. You can move baby to co-sleep next to you or have baby away from bed. It turns two different ways so it can lay alongside your bed or across your bed. You can play music or in utero sounds, and it has a nursing timer, vibration, and night light too. You can also store items you use often in the sides, which I put wipes and diapers in there. I don't have to worry about suffocation with the mesh sides, and it makes it easy for a worried mother like me to check on baby because you can see your baby so easily. I really do love this and I recommend it to every mother (and father)!”

3. Boon Lawn Countertop Drying Rack

The fun design of the Boon Lawn Countertop Drying Rack is sure to brighten up your countertop. Oh, and did I mention it’s a pretty handy drying rack for all of those bottles, pacifiers, and breast pump parts? For $24.99, there’s plenty of space for all of your air-drying needs. And the rave reviews on Buy Buy Baby’s website seem to confirm the Boon Lawn Countertop Drying Rack is a registry necessity.

One parent wrote, “Cannot say enough good things about this product. It’s a registry MUST HAVE!”

Another satisfied customer wrote, “Our son just turned one yesterday and we have pretty much used this daily for a year straight. We've hand washed all of his bottles, sippys, utensils, bowls, etc and this thing is constantly full. When he was newborn, it was used a lot for drying pump pieces, and bottles. It'll probably be on our counter for a while. I originally bought a smaller version, but opted for finding the right space to put this and it gets so much use.”

4. The First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Health and Grooming Kit

The First Years American Red Cross Deluxe Health and Grooming Kit has everything you need to tend to your baby’s personal hygiene (outside of bathtime) and sick-time needs. It includes: A nasal aspirator, digital thermometer with case, a soft-tip medicine dispenser, a comfort tip medicine spoon with cap, a brush, comb, scissors, nail clipper, fingertip toothbrush, emery boards and a rattle to help distract your little one while tending to him. This $19.99 kit also comes with a travel bag and a baby care, wellness and safety guide. Of course, you could always purchase all of these items separately. But having it all together in one kit is super convenient.

One five-star Buy Buy Baby reviewer wrote, “This was a gift from my friend. Totally love it because it’s super handy ALL THE TIME!! This is a MUST HAVE for any parent.”

5. Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Sling 'n Seat Bath Tub

For $39.99, this Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Sling ‘n Seat Bath Tub offers a safe place to bathe your baby from birth and into toddlerhood. Stage 1 — which includes the mesh sling that cradles your little one — is designed for the newborn days up through about 3 months. Stage 2 — for which parents remove the sling and add the Stage 2 insert — works well for babies between 3 and 6 months of age. Stage 3’s Sit-Me-Up-Support helps your little one sit comfortably between 6 and 9 months. And Stage 4 is a spacious toddler tub for babies who are 9 months and older. Bonus: This tub includes a squeeze bottle and whale scoop for playing and and rinsing.

One parent found the perfect fit in this tub, after a different one didn’t quite make the cut. They wrote, “I received a different bath, originally, from my registry, and it was TERRIBLE. It was an adorable bath (cute chevron pattern, adorable baby on the box, etc), but the features were terrible (didn't work, not convenient, etc). I returned it and bought this bath - and WOW! What a difference. I love how this bath can fit right in my kitchen sink. The infant sling that comes with it is perfect for my 6 week old. AND I love that I'll be able to use it for many different stages of his life. I highly recommend this bath.”

6. Moby Wrap Classic Baby Carrier in Black

For $44.99, the Moby Wrap Classic Baby Carrier is a cozy way to keep your baby contently snuggled against you — while also freeing up both hands so you can actually be productive. This wrap in particular distributes the weight of your baby comfortably on your entire back and your shoulders. It offers three different carrying positions, depending on what works best for you and your little one. Because it’s a wide piece of fabric that is strategically wrapped, there aren’t in buckles, snaps, or other fasteners to worry about. This 100-percent cotton carrier is machine washable and intended for babies from 8 to 35 pounds. To see how to properly wrap this carrier, check out this helpful YouTube tutorial.

One reviewer who gave the Moby Wrap Classic Baby Carrier a five-star rating, wrote, “At first I was a little intimidated on how to get started, but the step by step directions were simple to follow and I got it on my second try. This is perfect for carrying around a newborn while trying to get household chores done. Looking forward to trying different wraps as baby continues to grow. Fabric is soft and high quality.”

7. Boppy Infant Feeding/Support Pillow

Yet another must-have baby item on your registry is the Boppy Infant Feeding/Support Pillow. So there’s a reason it’s a “registry” fave at Buy Buy Baby. In the beginning, this pillow is handy for resting on your lap and around your waist so that your newborn can comfortably lie on top of it and breastfeeding/bottle feed without straining your arms. It’s also useful for supervised tummy time, propping, and more. Because the slipcover is removable and machine washable, it’s easy to keep clean. (I would recommend buying at least one additional slipcover because newborn spit-up is pretty much a guarantee.)

One satisfied customer echoed my own sentiments about the Boppy Pillow, writing, “I received this pillow as a baby shower gift and I used it at every stage. When my son was born it worked great for nursing and as he got older it worked as a support for tummy time, sitting and now at 11 months he sleeps with it as a pillow (not for everyone but it works wonders). I totally recommend it!”

8. 4moms mamaRoo 4

The sleek and compact design of the 4moms mamaRoo 4 combined with its unique set of motions is what makes this infant swing so popular with parents and their babies. (To truly appreciate how great this swing is, I would suggest to check out this YouTube review to see it in action.) This seat is designed for infants up to 25 pounds — so from birth to 6 months, or until the child can sit up unassisted. As well as different speeds, it features five distinct motions: Car ride, kangaRoo, tree swing, rock-a-bye, and ocean wave.

Parents can also recline the seat to multiple positions. Other features include: Removable toy bar with three plush toys, four built-in sounds, and the ability to play your own music with the MP3 player input jack. Even better? The mamRoo 4 is bluetooth enabled, meaning parents can control motion, sound, speed, and volume directly from their Bluetooth-enabled smart device. At $219.99, it’s definitely another baby registry splurge. Then again, a group of family members/friends may very well decide to pool their resources and buy it for you. (You never know!)

9. Dr. Brown's Options Feeding Bottles Gift Set

Before having kids, I used to think, “Meh, a bottle is a bottle.” I quickly realized this is not true. There are so many styles and features out there when it comes to bottles, that it can be a bit dizzying. Plenty of parents seem to agree, though, that Dr. Brown’s Options bottles are where it’s at. The vent system can be used to reduce feeding problems — like your baby swallowing too much air during feedings — or it can be used without the vent system as your baby grows. This particular gift set comes with three 8-ounce standard bottles, two 4-ounce standard bottles, five level one silicone nipples, two extra level two silicone nipples, two storage/travel caps and three cleaning brushes. (So basically, everything you need to get started with bottle feeding.)

One satisfied customer wrote, “Ok lets face it....there are a TON of bottle options. My head spun with the all the choices. So....I turned to my girlfriends with kids. I registered for different brands of bottles since some babies "like" (take to/ respond to) different bottles. Baby boy took to these bottles & nipples with no problems! Yeah win for us parents! They are easy to clean despite the 5 pieces for each bottle. I actually prefer the separate pieces since I can make sure the bottle is fully clean. One drawback....with the nipple and cap, the bottle will leak if tipped over. Not a deal breaker since we just make sure the bottle doesn't get just thrown into diaper bags. :)”

10. Britax B-Lively & B-Safe 35 Travel System

Having a safe place for your baby in the car is obviously a must. However, having a car seat that also clicks right into a stroller is the epitome of convenience — which is why the Britax B-Lively & B-Safe 35 Travel System made my list of must-haves from Buy Buy Baby. Considering the travel system is $399.99, it might also be more feasible for a few close friends to purchase this big-ticket item together.

One parent loved how easy the car seat was to install and how effortless it was to use the stroller. They wrote, “I love this set. Britax is known for their safety, so you can feel good about using this for your new little one. The seat was super easy to install into your car. I love that the stroller comes with it, so you don’t have to mess with any other adapters. You can easily transition your baby from the car seat to the stroller without waking them up! I love the one hand fold. I have a 2 year old and a newborn, so it is so necessary.”

11. Carter's 4-Pack White Long Sleeve Bodysuits

I cannot stress enough how essential bodysuits are to an infant's wardrobe. Not only are the super convenient for diaper changes, but they're easy to slip down and off in the event of a diaper blowout. Whether they're plain white, colored, or patterned, your baby baby will go through these like mad. (Because diaper leaks, spit-up, and messy meals happen.) They're great for layering, too. So definitely be sure to stock up on both short-sleeved and long-sleeved bodysuits. This four-pack of Carter's white long-sleeved bodysuits will help you get started on your baby clothing stockpile. Just be sure to add even more bodysuits in various sizes — as well as some two-piece sets, footed pajamas, and socks — to your Buy Buy Baby registry.
