Like plenty of children of celebrities, Colin Hanks has experienced a certain set of expectations that comes with being the son of Tom Hanks. Not only do they physically resemble each other, but having his acting career constantly compared to his dad's “can feel like hitting your head against the wall,” Colin told Dax Shepard on The Armchair Expert.

“When I was starting off, I was sort of lovingly naive, thinking that [being the son of Tom Hanks] wasn’t as big a deal as it is… that I would get the benefit of the doubt that I was my own person… and that doesn’t happen," he explained.
