Things We Wish Someone Would've Told Us About Postpartum Life
Oh, The Hunger You'll Have
"I had no idea how ravenously hungry I would be, and how I would continue to have strange food cravings and changing tastes postpartum. For example, I never ate Chinese food until my first son was born, and then I couldn't get enough of it. My husband also learned that I would need salami (NEED it) during the first few weeks so he had better not go to the grocery store and come home without it.
I guess the wild hunger is because of breastfeeding and burning all those calories — and also because of needing to be comforted after a traumatic and exhausting physical event — but I had no idea I would feel that way." - Sarah B.
